Barbara Ann Lackey, 74, of Amarillo died Tuesday, May 23, 2017.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2017 in Church of Christ at The Colonies with Dick Marcear and Lee Kendle officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Barbara was born April 24, 1943, in Phillips to Ralph and Bernice Brown. She graduated from Phillips High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. She owned and operated an interior design business, Accents by Barbara.
She was ranked as an ACBL Life Master bridge player and enjoyed playing bridge 2-3 times a week. Barbara was a member of Church of Christ at The Colonies.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Lackey; and her parents, Ralph and Bernice Brown.
Survivors include a daughter, Shannon Cook, of Fort Worth; a sister, Kristi Underhill, of Amarillo; a niece, Lindsay Jones, of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Ashley Lackey, Max Cook, C.J. Cook and wife Brooke and John David Cook and fiancée, Chloe Soza; two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Austin; and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be made to Martha’s Home, 1204 SW 18th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79102.
