Harold "Bud" Gene Lockhart

Harold Gene “Bud” Lockhart, 86 of Amarillo died Friday, August 25th. A memorial
service will be held at Rector Funeral Home on Friday, September 1st at 4:00.
Bud was born, April 13, 1931, in Waynoka, OK to Eber and Beryl Lockhart. Upon graduation from Waynoka High School, he attended OSU. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Johnson, and began his employment with Santa Fe Railroad. He enjoyed working there until his retirement in 1993. Bud and Mary enjoyed a long marriage for 49 years and were blessed with 5 daughters. After Mary’s death in 2000, Bud married Donna Denney and they were married for 16 years until his death. Bud’s favorite activities were spending time with family, woodworking, fishing, and watching sports on TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, his granddaughter Whitney Rodgers and 5 brothers.
He is survived by wife Donna, 5 daughters; Brenda Lyles and husband Ronnie, Vicki Kidd and husband Mike, Marla Lockhart, Cindy Alward and husband Mike, Tammy Hunter and husband Jeff, step son Monty Denney and wife Gina; and one sister, Doris Lockhart.
Grandchildren include Ronnie Lyles II and Casi, Charity Andrews and Kyle: Joshua Kidd and Christine; April Godina and James; and Katie Kidd: Luke Thomason, Matthew Thomason and Krissy: Jason Alward, Jennifer Oliver and Justin: Andrew Hunter and Alex; and Ryan Hunter and Lauren: Brandon Denney and Ginger; Kyle Denney and Ashley; and Jessie Denney.
Great grandchildren include Allie, Tripp, and Taylor: Bayler, Bostyn, and Bridge: Dylan and Gavin; Jatin, Lucas, and Greyson, Tyler and McCall and Brett: and Nash.
Great, Great grandchildren include Baylen and Rhylin Thomason.
Viewing will be available from 9am to 8pm Monday and Tuesday 9am to 1pm.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, August 28th at Rector Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Whitney Rodgers Scholarship Fund, Delta Psi Omega, and Amarillo College.
