Karen Sue Joy, 57 of Amarillo died Friday, July 21, 2017.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 24, 2017 at San Jacinto Church of Christ with Mr. Glen Walton officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Karen was born December 16, 1959 to Earl and Betty Joy in Amarillo. She graduated from North Heights Special Education in 1980. She participated in Special Olympics and her sport was bowling. She worked at State Center Workshop and at Hardee’s for many years. Karen was a special person and anyone who met her came away a changed person. It was easy to see Jesus in her face and Jesus is now holding her hand.
She was preceded in death by nieces, Kalee Joy Barton and Kristin Joy.
Karen is survived by her parents, Earl and Betty Joy of Amarillo; a brother, Kenneth Joy and wife Kathy of Canyon; a sister, Judy Houdyshell and husband Sam of Amarillo; four nieces and nephews, Spencer, Sydney, Kyle and Kevin; six great-nieces and nephews, Avery, Harper, Addisyn, Cru, Fynlea and Cooper; and many more loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
