Patricia Belflower, 73, of Valle de Oro, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm today at Cox Funeral Home - Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Pastor Gene Goodwin of First Baptist Church of Valle de Oro officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Patricia was born February 22, 1944 in Childress to Billy and Valeria Boyles. She married Eugene Belflower in 1960 at El Paso. The couple moved several times during Eugene's military service. They settled in Valle de Oro in 1971. In addition to working with her husband for 40 years in the insurance business, Patricia was also very active in her community. She ran the VDO post office for ten years. She was a long-time member of VDO Gold Riders Riding Club. Patricia was a voting precinct officer for many years, and was an EMT volunteer with Potter County Fire and Rescue. She was a member of Life Underwriters for 20 years. Patricia was a rock hound. She and her husband enjoyed doing lapidary and stone work, as well as jewelry making. She was also an avid gardener, and enjoyed canning foods. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Belflower in 2016. Survivors include a son, Gene Belflower and wife Sarah of Valle de Oro; a brother, Michael Boyles and wife DeEva of Amarillo; a sister, Susan Harris and husband Mike of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
