Stan Vandivere, 70, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017.
Services will be at 1 pm, Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, in Temple Baptist Church with Tommy Needham and Scott Higginbotham, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Stan was born Nov. 7, 1946, in Amarillo to Dewey and Aline Vandivere. He was a chief technician in cable systems for 25 years and drove trucks for another 25 years. Stan was a member of Kairos Prison Ministry.
Stan enjoyed his walk to Emmaus; from there he sponsored members to show how the walk changed his life. He was an amazing man, and was loved by so many. Stan loved to preach about the lord and help others find their way.
His grandchildren loved spending time with him; they loved to hear his stories from his earlier years. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. “I love you, Daddy”
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Vandivere; and a daughter, Tracie Vandivere.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherri Callery and husband Garth; a son, Stanley “Duce” Vandivere Jr.; three sisters, Marcella True and husband Douglas, Beverly Campbell and husband Bill and Geneva Towndrow and husband Richard; a brother, Danny Vandivere and wife Sandra; grandchildren, Nikki, DeeDee, Chassidie, Christina, Stephan, Keytan, Cortlyn; and great-grandchildren, Skyler, Odin, Cheyann, Khory, Brennen, McKayla, Brody
The family will received friends from 2-3 pm, Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 at the funeral home.
