Vera Mohney

Vera Harp Mohney, 92, of Amarillo, died Sunday, September 3, 2017.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Grand Avenue Baptist Church with Calvin Powell officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Vera was born on June 13, 1925, in Clarendon to Sylvia Killebrew and Finis Harp. She moved to Amarillo on January 1, 1939. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1943. Vera worked for Dunn and Bradstreet and later retired from Western National Life Printing Department. She married Kenneth Mohney on January 19, 1945.
She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church where she volunteered in the nursery, and was a Sunday school teacher for 20 years; a member of the choir and various committees.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth Mohney, six brothers, Jesse, Ernie, Andy, Roy, Raymond and Bill Harp; and her granddaughter, Caron Stuteville.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Graham and husband Jimmy, of Amarillo; Tanya Foster of Grapevine, Texas; one son, Larry Mohney and wife Jo, of Amarillo; her grandchildren, Cameron Garcia and husband Jeff; Scott Graham and wife Candy; Kay Slagh and husband Cary; and Tedd Mohney; Nine great-grandsons; and three great-granddaughters; one great-great-grandbaby to be; two sister-in-laws, Ernestine Harp of Amarillo and Shirley Mohney of Cogan Station, Pennsylvania; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
