Vicki Hyman-Craig
Vicki Hyman-Craig, 62, of Amarillo passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018. Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, September 17, 2018 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Pastor Gerald Owens officiating.
Vicki was born on October 18, 1955 in Amarillo to Wayne and Pauline Hyman. Vicki received her Bachelors of Social Work from West Texas A & M. She worked for Family Support Services for over fifteen years as a crisis interventionist. Her job required her to have a backbone and a heart that is very unique as she served survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault at FSS. It takes amazing strength and that is something that Vicki had and she LOVED her job. She served each survivor with grace, compassion and warmth giving guidance that gave many strength and love to many that felt broken. She gave her survivors strength, hope and wisdom.
Vicki also was a stand up comedian and always had a joke ready to share and could make everyone laugh and smile. Vicki loved her family immensely and was extremely proud of them and she had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Cory Alexander Craig and two sisters, Ann Mason and Wayneice Marshall.
She is survived by her husband, Henry; a daughter, Kenda Ledford and husband Roland; a granddaughter, Silent Ledford; a sister, Pat Hyman Mock and husband Blynn and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
