Virginia Louise (Lueker) Marshall, 92, passed away November 27, 2017.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Brian Hesse officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St. Amarillo, Texas.
On December 22, 1924, Virginia Louise Lueker was born in Russellville, Arkansas. Virginia was raised in Rocky Ford, Colorado, by a loving family to include her grandparents. Virginia was an only child and grew up with her cousin Elsie, who was the same age. They made wonderful memories together. In 1946, Virginia graduated from Beth-El School of Nursing in Colorado Springs, Colorado and became a registered nurse. Virginia planned to join the war effort, but the war ended prior to graduation.
In 1947, Virginia married the love of her life, Marvin Marshall. They were married 38 years before his passing. In 1948, Virginia and Marvin had their only child, Greg. Virginia was a strong woman of German, French, and Irish heritage. Virginia lived as a widow for 24 years in Amarillo, Texas, while traveling the world. In 2009, Virginia moved to Kingwood, Texas to be near her family.
Virginia was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Virginia was the true matriarch of the family. We all cherish our memories of her and she will be greatly missed. Virginia had a strong Lutheran upbringing that carried on throughout her life.
Survivors are Greg and Libby Marshall of Kingwood along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Justin and Janine Marshall (Jake and Jax) of Frisco, Texas. Dedra Smith (Jessica Snowden) of Spring Texas. Dean and Jenny Marshall (Logan, Jordyn, and Jack) of Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. Andrea and Kevin Cotner (Due in January: Emma Elizabeth) of Frisco, Texas.
